Baby monitor apps compared: Awake, Cloud Baby Monitor, Baby Monitor 3G, Bibino and Annie

Updated

All five apps turn two phones into a baby monitor with live video, sound and alerts. They differ in how you pay, what they keep, and how many extras they include. Awake is the simplest and most private: video goes straight between your phones, nothing is recorded or stored, and there’s no account. Cloud Baby Monitor, Bibino and Annie have more extras, like lullabies and sleep tracking. Baby Monitor 3G suits iPhone-only families who want to pay once.

We make Awake. To keep this fair, everything about the other apps comes from their own UK App Store listings, checked on 1 October 2026. Prices and features change, so check each listing before you choose.

Awake

Best for: parents who want a private, simple monitor on a spare phone.

  • Video and sound go directly from phone to phone. Nothing is uploaded, recorded or stored, so there’s no history to leak.
  • No account. You pair with a QR code or room code.
  • Up to 3 parents, and the camera phone shows who’s watching, with a button to remove anyone.
  • Movement and sound alerts.
  • Talk to your baby from your phone to soothe them.
  • Pricing: a free download, then a plan for one parent or up to three. Pay monthly with a 7-day free trial, or once for lifetime.

Trade-offs: Awake is deliberately simple. It has no lullabies, no sleep tracking and no recordings. Both phones need internet.

Cloud Baby Monitor

Best for: Apple households that want the most features.

  • £6.99 to download. Its listing says connections are end-to-end encrypted.
  • It works over Wi‑Fi or mobile data, and over Bluetooth where there’s no internet.
  • It includes lullabies, white noise, a night light, two-way talk, picture-in-picture, an activity log, and multiple parents and children.
  • It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.

Baby Monitor 3G

Best for: iPhone and iPad families who want to pay once.

  • £6.99, with “no subscription, no monthly fees”.
  • Its listing says: encrypted connection, no public streaming, no account required.
  • It includes two-way talk, night mode, background audio and multiple parent devices.
  • It’s for iPhone and iPad; the Mac version is sold separately.

Bibino

Best for: families who want extras and keepsakes.

  • Free with limited features. Bibino Premium unlocks the rest, with a free trial.
  • It records sounds, videos and photos from each session, so you can replay them later.
  • It includes lullabies, a night light, two-way talk and multiple parent devices.
  • It works on phones, tablets and computers.

Annie Baby Monitor

Best for: parents who want a monitor and a baby diary in one.

  • Free to download, with a trial, then a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription.
  • It keeps past recordings, plus a sleep tracker and a baby diary for feeds, nappies and milestones.
  • It includes night vision, two-way audio, lullabies, and monitoring of up to four babies.

How to choose

  • Privacy first? Choose an app that doesn’t keep recordings. Awake stores nothing; Bibino and Annie keep a history by design, which some parents want and others don’t.
  • No subscription? Baby Monitor 3G and Cloud Baby Monitor are paid apps. Awake offers a one-off lifetime option.
  • Mixed iPhone and Android household? Baby Monitor 3G is iPhone and iPad only. Awake, Bibino and Annie work across both.
  • Lots of extras? Cloud Baby Monitor, Bibino and Annie have lullabies, night lights and more.
  • Patchy internet? Cloud Baby Monitor lists a Bluetooth fallback. Awake needs internet on both phones.

Whichever you choose, no app replaces adult supervision. Follow safe-sleep guidance from the NHS or the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Awake is not a medical device and does not replace adult supervision.
